    • Press Windows Key+R to open the run command dialog box
    • Now type new network path\Setup.exe /fvmpackage name.msi (over here new network path is the full address that you need to give of the alternative network administrative installation and package name is the name of the .msi package of Windows Installer which you can find on the root of this administrative installation (for example, Proplus.msi).
  • If you are not able to perform the previous point then you can create an administrative installation. All you need is at least 700 MB of free disk space on your hard disk. You can use it as the Office source file location. But this could be possible only when you have an Enterprise edition of the MS Office.
    • Insert MS Office CD.
    • Click Start and then click Run
    • Now type a command CD-ROM drive:\Setup /a (Here CD-ROM drive is the drive which represents the CD inserted.) and click OK.
    • When the Administrative Installation dialog box opens up, give the path of the hard disk on which you want to save your MS Office and insert the product key when required.
    • Click Next and then click OK to finish your installation.
    • Now follow the steps mentioned in the first main point in order to set the Office source file location on your hard disk.

In this way you can overcome the Microsoft office installation error easily. After following the above mentioned steps, you won’t be facing the error 1706 again.
