Might be the sender has probably landed on other parties i.e. third party anti-spam product. This may be cause by failure to the audit mailing list. The recipient may receive these emails in their spam folder as a spam messages to their anti-spam product vendor. Then it is added to anti-spam definition and then because of this now the emails gets blocked and stops coming in Gmail. This is usually identified or detected by a email signature, URL, Domain name or telephone or mobile number.
